Hey Donna,
I have been caring for my mother and we pretty much missed Christmas. I understand what you mean aobut Christmas belonging to your mother. I am so shocked how much people love Christmas. I decidely do not. We can not love Christmas together. Hope to see you soon, your class was great. Robin

Those necklaces are Gorrrrrgeeeeous.

I don't know what I'll do without my mother when that time comes. My parents and I are extremely close. Taylor is EXTREMELY attached to them also. Without them I couldn't have made it through her diagnosis and through every day. I will eventually be the same as you I'm afraid.

Those necklaces are very original. Glad to see you posting again.

Wishing you a very Happy New Year! I can understand what you are saying about your Mom. Perhaps some year your spirit will just latch on to the feeling that she gave you....if not, the memories of Christmas with your Mom will sustain you. Wishing you peace.

Your necklaces are so wonderful and original looking. I can't even explain how strong my urge to make jewelry like this has been for several weeks now. I can't get anyone to leave me alone long enough! My step sister died yesterday from cancer. Her boys are 11 and 13. I can't help but think how their New Years celebrations will forever be altered. Whether they drink too much in sorrow or find a higher road to remember her by, for the rest of their lives their first holiday of the year (or last, depending on how you look at it) will not be like everyone elses. :-(

Happy New Year Donna!!!
I understand your Christmas feelings and how they relate to your mom. Mine died in 9/2007 and nothing has been "right" since, especially the joy she brought to Christmas!!

Donna,
So glad to see you posting again. I have really missed seeing what you are up to. I too am happy the holidays are over, and know how hard it can be having those special people missing. Your jewelry is AMAZING and I'm sure the recipients were thrilled with their gifts. Love the beautiful garland as well. Sounds like you are enjoying teaching too. Best wishes for a fantastic new year!!

Donna, I ran across this quote and thought of you. And me.

"There's nothing sadder in this world than to awake Christmas morning and not be a child. Time, self-pity, bitterness, and exhaustion can take Christmas out of the child, but you cannot take the child out of Christmas..."
