It seems vintage wallpaper is the only blog post heading I ever use. I'm obviously pretty into collecting and selling it, but I promise you I AM going to post a handmade item soon. I can say it with confidence because I'm closing in on the end of a collage. Feels so good to get glue on my hands. It's been way too long. The vendor thing kinda sweeps you up and takes you over if you're not careful. For a person who swore they'd never be an online vendor, I sure do a lot of shipping. So, speaking of that....here's a new limited vintage wallpaper pack I'll be listing tomorrow. I gotta tell you I was surprised I had so much pretty paper as I kept uncovering roll after roll saying, "oh yeah....I remember this one." I'm one of those who likes almost all vintage wallpaper. Scrolls, large florals, cabbage roses, geometrics....all color ways. I love it all. I've never done a pack like this before. Willy nilly on sizes. I may be too anal to keep it up; we'll see. I am for sure tired of the mini-pack for now. Over it. Might bring it back some day. I do still have quite a few flocked mini-packs and will sell those til they're gone.
Note the center geometric (light gray background w/pink and blue) above. I think it's my current favorite paper. LOVE it.
I think there are 18 different patterns in this pack. I sorta lost count. Oh well, it's a good one! I'm really hoping to post my collage tomorrow. I'm fussing around with embellishments and that tends to take me quite a while.
I've also been toying with an idea for over a year now. It would be something I might try to pull together after Christmas if I can figure how to do it. I have a number of wallpaper patterns that are so-so to quite ugly. I have a flocked paper that blows my mind every time I pull it out because I can't believe how ugly it is. Hard to believe it ever got manufactured and sold. I'm wanting everyone to put on their most creative hats and transform ugly wallpaper into works of art. Doesn't that sound like a fun challenge?? I'd need to figure the costs and logistics of getting the papers out to participants. I think it's doable. Let me know if this sounds fun to you. AFTER Christmas of course:)
Oh! Here's a tip from my son Luke. I was whining about not having a cool wallpaper on my cell phone and he told me to take a photo of one of my favorite vintage wallpapers with my phone camera and apply it as a wallpaper. Worked like a charm. I used that red damask in the last photo, but I think I might switch them out frequently. It's fun and looks great.
xo for now. Hope all is well in your world.
Happy Thanksgiving Donna! Love the papers and I like the idea of the ugly wallpaper project!
