I am always jotting things down as I sit by the computer. File names, phone numbers, websites, addresses. search words, etc. I end up with piles of index cards full of mostly crap I don't need, but am scared to throw away for fear it contains a needed tidbit of information. So, I started keeping a little spiral notebook instead. This way everything is contained in one neat place and I can rip out the pages that are no longer relevant. Since this new method works so well, I decided to make the notebook pretty. It only takes about 5 to 10 minutes to make a little collage like this (using a glue stick instead of gel medium) and I can stick it in a journal when the notebook is spent. I'm about to go in a make another little notebook for Luke's notes because he is always making little notes too. I never have any idea if I should keep his or if he's finished with them. He's also NEVER around when I need to ask. He definitely needs a notebook.
I also meant to let everyone know that I've had to make a little change to my large flocked wallpaper pack. I'm doubting anyone really cares, but I wanted to let you know anyway. I just can't get it into a flat rate envelope when the seam binding is wrapped around it so this is the alternative.
I figured if I scrunched the ribbon it wouldn't make a difference if it got flattened out in the mailing process. I'm not very happy with any of the labels I've made for my packs. The idea was to make little collages and then scan and print them as labels. I like the collages, but they aren't printing very well for some reason. Not sure what the deal is. I also decided they look better if they are nested on a larger solid scalloped piece. This large flocked pack looks fine with the black scallop under it, but the other three packs don't work as well. Next time I will plan the color schemes better. I'm sure I'm the only one who gives a fig about this. It's just my anal nature coming out.
We had a bad storm last night and I woke up to a LAKE in my studio. OMG, I was mortified. By some miracle nothing was damaged. Thank God my precious wallpaper was out of the way of the deluge. I told Brian about it and he said, "oh, I forgot to put weather stripping around your window unit when I installed it." I think that little job needs to jump to the top of the priority list. I"ve never been so grateful for Rubbermaid tubs in my life.
Well, I guess I'll go try to make this day creative. Hope yours is creative too:)
LOVE this new notebook. You need to make some for your shop because I WANT ONE. So glad your wallpaper was safe. Husbands!! Why don't they understand??xo

OMGosh! I'm so glad nothing got ruined. I would freak out if my stamp room ever got wet. Good luck with drying out your basement, I know it's a nightmare. :(

Hi Donna...I'm just checking in on you. I see you are still plugging along on your organizing. I am too, however I think my baby steps are tinier than yours. But any step in the right direction is good, don't you think? I love the wallpaper organizer with it's bright colored wallpaper cover. And also the matching notebook. I keep one of those too and it went for the longest time with the original icky cover it came with. Then I had an AHA moment and collaged the cover and now it is pleasing to the eye and much easier to find when I need it!

So did your lips actually POP off when you pursed them? I'm sure they did. Oh Lord, if that paper had been damaged...I don't want to think about it.
Nice notebook, Mil.
