I was doing so good with posting daily, but it all fell apart as Christmas kept getting closer. I have some absolutely gorgeous things to show you now.
The next 3 photos are from Jeanne Szewczyk. She made us two extraordinary pieces. A mini Christmas shadow box which is beautifully crafted. It's truly a stellar piece of work as is the second piece she made. Each of us received a soldered microscope slide ornament with our blog banner or our etsy shop banner on one side and the 12-days swap button on the other side. So personal, appropriate and very touching. Thank you so much Jeanne. Your work continues to amaze me.
The next 2 photos show Marilyn Healey's contribution to the swap. Her wrapping is lovely with a vintage German (I think) book page. I'm sure we all very carefully opened her gift so we can reuse the paper. I wish she could have figured out a way to wrap it without using tape! Inside the beautiful wrapping was a gorgeous pair of earrings! Very vintage-y looking. I wore them yesterday along with my gift from Martha which you will see next. I knew Marilyn had been into earring making so I figured out what was inside before I opened it. Earrings are quite fun to make and I go through phases of making them. She's inspired me to want to crank out a few pair again. Love them Marilyn....thank you so much!
The next 3 pictures show the fabulous work of Martha Brown. The package is made of lovely fabric that's been sewn into an envelope. Inside is a beautifully quilted wrist cuff. This is no ordinary piece. She has skillfully sewn on fabric, fibers and ribbon to make a unique and extraordinary work of art! I shall make a habit of wearing this. Thank you so very much Martha!
To finish the swap we opened our gifts from Queen Blog Mother Kari Ramstrom. Oh, wow, I love the piece she made for us!! Vintage photo holders and German glass glitter. It doesn't get much better than that. Also, for me, the piece is very fitting because she uses an image of a mother with two sons. This makes it all the more special to me. She used those fabulous little hangers I've always loved and never ordered. I had not seen them in real life and they are bigger than I ever imagined. I will be ordering some in the next couple of days. They will work nicely to hang my 6x12 canvas panels. Kari....thank you so much for your lovely piece! I love it and I will cherish it forever!
A BIG thank you to Heather Bluhm for putting this complicated swap together. Such a lot of work and we all appreciate it so much. We had a great time and it was nice getting to know the girls I didn't already know.
I have lots of other goodies to share in the next couple of days so stay tuned! Hope you had a Merry Christmas.
